AIR 3331 Iwamotocho Studio Residency

Final exhibition: ‘Works on paper unfolding in space’ (May 9th - May 10th)

This project consists of a series of watercolour and ink paintings created during my 4 week stay in Tokyo. Throughout this project I have collected inspiration and imagery from my physical environment and translated it into abstract compositions. My work explores the physical practice of creating non-representational works, and how abstract art-making processes can reveal and reflect an artist’s experiences, thoughts and feelings as the works unfold over time. I am interested in how an artist's external environment can be refracted into abstract compositions that capture and reveal their outer and inner worlds.
